I grew up in Sacramento, California, and have always been driven by curiosity, personal growth, and the desire to build something meaningful in my career. I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Redlands and spent the next eight years building my professional experience before deciding to pursue an MBA at Cornell University.
After graduating from Cornell, I returned to Sacramento and joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where I gained valuable experience in consulting and business strategy. I later joined Siemens Mobility, where I have continued to grow professionally while working in the transportation and mobility industry.
Beyond my career, I have always been interested in personal finance, investing, and making thoughtful decisions with money. I genuinely enjoy understanding how money works, planning for the future, and finding ways to make financial goals more achievable. I also enjoy learning about business, markets, and new opportunities.
I consider myself self-driven and motivated, and I believe that growth comes from continuously learning, taking calculated risks, and being willing to step outside of your comfort zone. My own journey from working for eight years, returning to school for an MBA, and transitioning into a new industry has taught me the value of patience, persistence, and making intentional career decisions.
Through this platform, I hope to share some of the lessons and experiences I've gained along the way and help students and professionals think more intentionally about their education, careers, and financial futures.
Originally from India, I moved to the United States in about 10years ago to pursue my graduate studies and completed my Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. I began my professional career in Northern California, working in the small town of Burney after the graduation.
Moved to Sacramento in 2017, where I continued building my career in the construction and infrastructure industry. I joined the California High-Speed Rail project as an Estimator, gaining valuable experience in estimating, cost management, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
After working as an Estimator for about 4 years, I joined Turner Construction, where I worked as an MEP Engineer. My experience at Turner further strengthened my expertise in project controls, MEP coordination, cost management, and construction project delivery.
My journey from India to the United States, graduate school, and a career in the construction industry has given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges involved in building an academic and professional career in a new environment.
Today, I enjoy sharing that experience with students and professionals who are navigating their own education, career decisions, and professional development. I also recently earned my PMP certification and am passionate about sharing the practical strategies and study approaches that helped me prepare for and pass the exam.
